big cheesin in the forest, somewhere in Pennsylvania
Oh hey! My name's Andrea.
Quien soy?
Curious. Investigative. Extroverted. Creative.
I enter flow states when facilitating and engaging others, conducting qualitative research and developing human and place attuned strategies that address needs in thoughtful and creative ways.
I love learning, and I'm obsessed with unleashing potential. Most recently, this led me to a community demonstration project in Hollywood, where I was wearing many a hat running operations, collaborating with the Board and curating experiences with local artists to make eco-literacy exciting and accessible. These loves are also what led me to my degree in Environmental Studies at USC. They are what led me to take classes in everything from environmental sciences, sustainability, governance and economics to narrative design, worldbuilding and media arts. They are what urged me to launch a university wide sustainability ambassador program, spark interdisciplinary initiatives, conduct research on the link between natural resources and civil conflict and perform life cycle assessments of natural building materials. They led me to consult organizations on how to better apply circular economy principles into operations and compile research used to inform the book "SDG12 - Sustainable Consumption and Production: A Revolutionary Challenge for the 21st Century." They led me to engage community leaders in the making of neighborhood relevant toolkits to implement the Green New Deal at the LA Mayor's Office as well as guide tours and workshops, educating youth and adults on topics in geology, history, sustainability and speculative design.
Life is far from one dimensional, and if you'd like to learn a bit more about the things that motivate and nourish me, I'll spill some beans here.
